Image acquisition equipment provides a digital
image of x-rays or documents when these aren't available through other
systems (component is not necessary if the customer has a PACS system.)
A flatbed scanner located in the ICU is simple to use and merely requires
the staff to put the x-ray on the scanner and push one button. A standard
fax can be used to transmit documents, including ECGs and any hand
written notes.
