The eCareManager^™ System

The eCareManager system is the technology infrastructure of the eICU^® Program. It is composed of both:

	eCareManager software applications that manage clinical information
	A telemedicine system (remote care tools) that facilitates care by allowing intensivists and critical care nurses to monitor multiple sites simultaneously

Every component —including videoconferencing, The Source, the bedside monitor interface, Smart Alerts®, and the image acquisition and transfer system —has received FDA 510(k) clearance. The eICU Program meets Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards by employing technology, processes, and procedures to safeguard both the security and the privacy of sensitive patient information.
