eCareManager
 eCareManager™
was designed for critical care physicians, in recognition of the
unique environment in which they function and the need for tools
that meet their specialized work requirements. eCareManager™ does
not simply improve access to data but actually displays clinical
information in formats that highlight important interrelationships.
Patient Profile:
This comprehensive dashboard view of key information shows everything
the clinician needs to know to assess and manage care, including:
 |
Acuity status
 |
 |
Detailed physiologic and laboratory
data organized by body system
 |
 |
Catheters, allergies, code status
 |
 |
Today's diagnoses and treatments |
The Message Center section contains additional indicators that highlight
the presence of new Smart Alerts®, lab results, or tasks on the
clinician's "to do" list, thereby ensuring continuity of
care.
Treatment Plan:
This single data source summarizes current therapies and short-term
and long-term therapeutic objectives. Treatment Plans outline the
care plan for the most common ICU issues (sedation, analgesia, ventilation,
nutrition and volume status); and allows physicians, nurses, respiratory
therapists, nutritionists, and others to coordinate and manage patient
care.
Event Log: A sequential
list of all major clinical events since admission that creates a
complete chronology of a patient's ICU stay.
Physician note-writing capability:
Captures information (pick lists) on diagnoses, diagnostic procedures,
and therapies, allowing on-site and remote physicians to rapidly
generate detailed admission, progress and procedure notes that are
legible, comprehensive, and contain all elements required to support
pro-fee billing.
Clinicians can also easily navigate
to other display screens such as:
 |
Line Log
 |
 |
Labs / Microbiology
 |
 |
Vital Signs
 |
 |
Medications
 |
 |
Order-entry built around the
leading commercial pharmacy database (First Data Bank), which
screens for allergies and drug-drug interactions, adding an
important safety net. Hospitals with an order-entry system will
prefer to provide access to their own system from the eICU® in
order to establish a single, consistent approach.
